Hello my name is Gloria Viotti Olson,
I thought it wouldn’t hurt to email you about my very short story of my ongoing attempts at self publishing and what led me to it. As long as I can remember I have loved writing.
But publishing had always been a wish and never something I believed I would have a chance to do, even if it is self publishing. But I got lucky and I was able to self publish my short stories book through the KDP program on Amazon.com. The reason I finally took the plunge was because on Dec 4, 2011 my home burnt down (no one was hurt and both my daughters and I got out fine), and my husband is the only one working, so I figured I might as well try, if I don’t sell any books then I can at least say that I tried. But I try my best to not give up on things even when they seem like they are not going as planned. I published my book on Amazon.com on Jan 20, 2011. Ans as far as I can tell I have not sold any books, though I do have it set up to read for free for prime members. But I am unsure of how to check if anyone has downloaded, which leads me to believe that no one has read it. My cover is not the best (it’s a picture I took one day while driving which I liked but everyone has a difference of opinion) and my writing is not the best but I hope someone out there likes my writing style. Needless to say I will not stop writing but I do hope that my books sell, and I will be publishing more of my books so maybe one of those will sell. I think that it is to soon to say that I have failed since it hasn’t been that long since I published my books and I have not advertised at all with the exception of telling my family about it. I do not have the money to advertise so I am trying to do it in a way that still gets the word out. My description for my book is not that great I need to rewrite it but I have various stories that are actually sections of books I plan to turn in to novels, but I thought this would give the readers a chance to find out if they liked my stories.
Well thank you for the opportunity to tell my story. Here is my link if you wish to read it. Have a great day and good luck with your own book. self publishing.

Gloria P. Viotti Olson

Everything we thought we knew about aging is changing. Part of the Growing Bolder self-improvement series, “Rock Stars of Aging: 50 Ways to Live to 100″ reveals the simple lifestyle changes that can add decades of activity to your life.

Growing Bolder, one of the world’s leading producers of active lifestyle content, announces the launch of Bolder Press and the publication of “Rock Stars of Aging: 50 Ways to Live to 100.”

“This is a very modest first step into publishing,” says Marc Middleton, CEO of Bolder Broadcasting, Inc., co-host of Growing Bolder and author of “Rock Stars of Aging.” “We already have a strong and growing presence in TV, radio and the Web, “ adds Middleton. “Bolder Press and ‘Rock Stars of Aging’ represent the next step in building our multi-platform active lifestyle network.”

“Rock Stars of Aging” is based upon the hundreds of interviews and countless stories Growing Bolder has produced on active centenarians, nonagenarians and octogenarians. “We’ve had so many great conversations with the world’s oldest NASCAR driver, college graduate, blogger, CEO, showgirl, Olympian, doctor, swing dancer, inventor, athlete, artist, actress and more,” says Bill Shafer, Bolder Broadcasting Vice President and co-host of Growing Bolder. “This is a very diverse group of men and women but after awhile some common threads begin to emerge. ‘Rock Stars of Aging’ reveals that lifestyle traits can add decades of activity to your life.”

“’Rock Stars of Aging’ is a great beginning to what will become a Growing Bolder series of self-improvement books — a constantly evolving guide to creating a long life filled with fun, passion and significance,” says Jackie Carlin, Growing Bolder’s Director of Online Content and head of the Bolder Press project. “These Rock Stars of Aging are redefining what’s possible for just about anyone. They run, paint, drive, travel, study, garden and more. And they’re all at least 100 years old!”

“Rock Stars of Aging: 50 Ways to Live to 100″ is available for all major e-book readers, including Kindle and Nook, on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and Smashwords.com. It is also available as a .pdf download at RockStarsofAging.com.
